About Me

My family and I live in Florida, close to good friends and many relatives. We are thriving in the sunshine!

Originally from Florida, this is where I met my wife, Kelli, 12 years ago. Early on, we moved to Loveland, CO and spent 6 years building a beautiful life.

In October 2017 we traveled back to Florida to host our wedding close to the beach, and in December 2019 – just before the world shut down – we learned we would welcome a baby boy the following year.

This huge life change led us back to Florida and into a home with so much potential. We purchased a house not too far from the beach, happily spending most of our days outside.

I would consider myself an optimist and an advocate for taking care of myself. Each year I set resolutions. However, I avoid goals associated with weight and wealth and instead focus on internal progress.

The year I started doing this, my only goal was to wish everyone important to me a “Happy Birthday” on the correct date. It did not go without error, but the end of the year left me feeling accomplished and connected better to the people I cared about.

Fast-forward to a couple of years ago, I’m sure I was nap-trapped, staring at the uneven flooring and painfully ugly baseboards. It was a moment of “I bet I could fix that”. (Spoiler: I have not yet touched the flooring or baseboards in our home) From there, I just started moving.

As I started making little fixes and updates, my mental health flourished. It wasn’t just the big things either. I remember calling friends into the guest bathroom to look at the caulk job that I had just finished around the toilet.

I am not a beige homeowner, and my ideas may not be universally aesthetic, but that isn’t the full objective! My goal is to keep feeding my mental health and share what I learn.

I’m excited you’ve come across this page, and I hope you find something positive or useful to take with you.
